Dr Tim Eckstein
Dr. Tim Eckstein of Bay City, Michigan has a wide ranging background. Born in Toledo Ohio March 19, 1949, he grew up in a typical Midwest hard-working family. He served two tours in Vietnam with the Navy Seabees, 1968-70, stationed at the Demilitarized Zone/17th Parallel, Quang Tri Province. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo and his Doctor of Osteopathy from Kirksville, Missouri in 1978. As a Navy reservist in good standing he served with them for nearly 39 years. He left as a Navy Captain. As the Senior Medical Officer on the Aircraft Carrier Enterprise he made a Megallan cruise (Global Circumnavigation) in 1989. In 2005 he was appointed Senior Medical Officer at the Marine Corps base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina serving yet another war’s Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He has been truly active with the Medal of Honor Society, local Veterans’ Groups in Bay City and Saginaw, and a wide array of public service organizations throughout his lifetime. He traveled with the Library Project in 2016 and is a Co-Founder and major sponsor of the Phonsavath, Laos (Kmhmus/Montagnard) Library Project Dedicated December 29, 2018. He has also been an inspiration to all he meets in the Library Project activities he sponsors with such incredible energy.
